Marshals museum architect selected

Polk Stanley Rowland Curzon Porter Architects and Cambridge Seven Architects will build the U.S. Marshals Museum along the Arkansas River in Fort Smith.

The team has designed numerous notable national structures, including the William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park and Heifer International Headquarters in Little Rock.

The committee has repeatedly said it wants a building that fits its environment and fits with the Marshals Service story, but also one that stands out.

Rowland said, “First of all, we think every building has a story, and every one is different, so the architecture has to reflect the story.”

Stanley said the river is a factor that must also be engaged in the facility.
