Urgent care facility in Fort Smith fills niche

River Valley Urgent Care clinic – how do you know when you should go here and not the emergency room. Or the traditional “doc in a box?”

Ben Boulden at the Times Record enlightens us:

Urgent care centers are there to treat the immediate needs of patients who can’t get in to see their primary care physician or who don’t have one.

“At some walk-in clinics I’ve worked at, we would send them to a hospital emergency room,” Bell said…Here we have the ability to get lab work. … While we wait for those results, we can give them some IV fluids.”

You can check-in online, too.
