In Sunday’s Times Record, business reporter Tara Muck profiled Umarex USA, taking readers a little deeper into the history of the company and recent events that led to the company’s expansion announcement at Chaffee Crossing.
According to Umarex literature, airguns fire projectiles — mainly steel BBs or lead pellets — using compressed air or pressurized gas and have been in existence since the 1500s.
Blalock said that while airguns can be used for hunting small game or for varmint control, the real use tends to be for target practicing or shooting aluminum cans.
