WASHINGTON — A Senate panel has earmarked $1 million in federal spending to continue landscaping along Garrison Avenue, the main entryway to downtown Fort Smith.

Times Record – Streetscape Funds In Bill

If ultimately approved late this year or early next year, the funding would complete screetscaping from the Garrison Avenue Bridge to 13th Street.

Streetscaping on the Avenue is an ongoing initiative to help encourage foot traffic for local retail businesses, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
